    THE EXHIBITION IS NOW IN LILONGWE IN THE CENTRAL PROVINCE OF NYASALAND WHERE IT WAS OPENED ON FRIDAY BY DR.BANDA, THE PRIME MINISTER.NEARLY 20,000 PEOPLE SAY THE EXHIBITION IN BLANTYRE, NORTHERN RHODESIA.

    WEST GERMANY-BUYS ABOUT GBP242,000 WORTH OF NYASALAND PRODUCE EVERY YEAR AND A LARGE NUMBER OF NYASALAND STUDENTS HAVE STUDIED IN WEST GERMANY UNDER SCHOLARSHIPS OR ARE NOW STUDYING.AN ANNOUNCEMENT IS EXPECTED TO BE MADE SOON ABOUT A WEST GERMAN CONTRIBUTION TO NYASALAND'S DEVELOPMENT.

    THE 1963 GERMAN ITINERANT EXHIBITION FOR CENTRAL AND EAST AFRICA, TO GIVE IT ITS OFFICIAL NAME, IS ALSO VISITING TANGANYIKA, RUANDA, BURUNDI, UGANDA AND KENYA.THE EXPEDITION ORIGINALLY SET OUT FROM BREMEN, FOR THE LONG VOYAGE TO BEIRA, MOZAMBIQUE.IN MID-MAY, THE CONVOY SET OUT ON ITS TREK OF 11,645 KILOMETRES, COVERING APPROXIMATELY 190 DAYS AND 26 PLACES.

    FROM BEIRA THE CARAVAN CROSSED MOZAMBIQUE AND SOUTHERN RHODESIA, ON THE FIRST LEG OF THE JOURNEY, TO LUSAKA, NORTHERN RHODESIA, 1,060 KILOMETRES AWAY.THE 1963 EXHIBITION IS MORE EXTENSIVE THAN ITS PREDECESSOR, WHICH IN SEVEN AND A HALF MONTHS TOURED NINE WEST AFRICAN COUNTRIES AND COVERED A DISTANCE OF ABOUT 5,000 KILOMETRES.IT COMPRISED SEVENTEEN MOBILE UNITS AND THREE PASSENGER CARS FOR THE ADVANCE TEAM AND MANAGEMENT; IT HAD A COMPLEMENT OF ABOUT 40.THIS TIME THE EXHIBITION CONSISTS OF 27 UNITS AND HAS A STAFF OF 55.
