Background: A film, threatened by possible disaster due to union recalcitrance, is now in the final stage of production in France. The film, Someone Behind the Door, was to have been made in Britain, but negotiations with British film unions ran into twenty three weeks, and it was decided to complete the film in France as a Franco-Italian production instead of the Planned Anglo-French production.

The film stars Anthony Perkins as a slightly demented psychiatrist who is treating Charles Bronson. Bronson was the subject of dispute in the union discussions in Britain, together with Perkins. British unions were concerned at the ratio of non-British actors in the cast. The discussions on Bronson's status -- the union's eventually accepted him as British because he is married to a Briton -- lasted 23 days. In the meantime, however, the producers moved location of France.
