Elements of the 173rd Brigade encounter a hard core Viet Cong battalion stronghold during the operation. With the held of US and South Vietnamese Skyraiders and supporting artillery the Vit Cong positions were overrun.
While continuing their pursuit of the routed Viet Cong, troops of the 173rd searched all farm houses in the operation area. The troopers apprehend several Viet Cong and suspected sympathizers as well as uncovering several US type 106mm rounds being used by the Viet Cong as mines.
In addition, the U.S. Infantrymen and Vietnamese interpreters question villagers and destroy several boats found near a farm house containing Viet Cong.
