    ARSENAL, WITH EASTHAM SHOWING SOME NEAT TOUCHES, WERE PROMINENT AT THE START BUT LACKED COHESIAN.LEEDS WERE MORE DANGEROUS, AND AFTER 12 MINUTES WENT AHEAD, BUT ANNOYED THE BIG CROWD WITH ROBUST AND BRAWLING TACTICS.AN ACCURATE CROSS TO THE FAR POST BY A LEEDS PLAYER WAS HEADED HOME BY GILES TO SCORE THE FIRST GOAL.

    SHORTLY AFTER, ARSENAL TRIED FOR AN EQUALISER BUT THE BALL FLASHED INCHES THE WRONG SIDE OF THE POST.HOWEVER, THE LONDONERS GRADUALLY PRESSED LEEDS BACK AND MANAGED TO SCORE THEIR EQUALISING GOAL 25 MINUTES AFTER THE START OF PLAY.BAKER OF LEEDS WAS BROUGHT DOWN IN THE PENALTY AREA BY BELL -- AN UNNECESSARY FOUL BECAUSE THE BALL HAD ALREADY ELUDED ARSENAL.THE PENALTY WAS TAKEN BY EASTHAM, WHO MADE NO MISTAKE.

    IN THE SECOND HALF, ARSENAL HAD THE WIND ASSISTANCE BUT IT WAS LEEDS WHO MADE THE EARLY RUNNING.ARSENAL THEN STRENGTHENED, BUT LEEDS WENT AHEAD FOR THE SECOND TIME IN THE 73RD MINUTE OF THE GAME WESTON DROVE THE BALL LOW INTO THE NET.
