Background: Soviet First Deputy Premier, Anastas Mikoyan, arrived in Oslo, June 23, by air from Moscow for a week's visit. He was received at the airport by Norwegian Prime Minister Einar Gerhardsen.
Mr. Mikoyan said he had brought greetings from the Soviet Government and from Khrushchev. He hoped that his visit would lead to grater understanding between norway and the Soviet Union.
In Oslo as a guest of the Norwegian Government, the Soviet Deputy Premier later had talks with Premier Gerhardsen and Foreign Minister Halvard lange. On Saturday, June 25, he will open a Soviet industrial exhibition in the Norwegian capital.
