Background: INTRODUCTION: China's Premier Zhao Ziyang is in a visit to North Korea. At the airport, he greeted by North Korean Prime Minister Li Jong Ok.

SYNOPSIS: North Korea is a secluded country which has received few visitors from outside. The exception, however, is China. The two countries have enjoyed close relations ever since China intervened in the Korean War on the North Korea's behalf. now the two countries share a common bond and support each other's diplomatic interests.

Zhao Ziyang's arrival was enthusiastically greeted by crowds at Pyongyang Airport, and cordial relations were quickly established between the Chinese leader and his host, Li Jong Ok, who is a politbureau and central committee member as well as North korean Premier.

Later the two men attended a banquet in the North capital and reaffirmed support for each other's major foreign policy concerns. Premier Zhao told his host China condemned the decision of korea and the policies of the South Korean government. And he praised North Korean proposals for reunification of the peninsula. Premier li Jong Ok, praised Chinese proposals for unification of Taiwan with mainland China, They were realistic and proper, he said, and reflected the will of all the Chinese people. But both countries stressed that their support was only for peaceful plans of reunification.
