KAUNDA: "The post office, the high court, they are damaged, being assessed now. We don't know. In the first palace this is not the first time this has happened, that the post offices and the high court have been attacked. There have been explosions there before, there have been explosions of recrimination, There have been land mine explosion , on the borders with rebels (inaudible) Angola and Mozambique. We've lost live before, Today, when I sue my power t invoke the (inaudible), some people questioned. I warn the nation then that the rebels during the (inaudible) hour will come more and more desperate."
After Dr. Kaunda's statement , a Rhodesian Government spokesman said, "We do not know to whom Dr. Kaunda is referring when her refers to Rhodesian rebels. For that reason, we can make no comment at this time." A nationwide hunt is continuing throughout Zambia for the bombers.

SYNOPSIS: The two early morning explosions, at the main post office and the high courts, caused damage over a wide area. At the post office a large section of the wall and, several large plate glass windows were blown to. A stature of a lion on the steps of the high court was completely smashed and windows i the area were shattered. President Candy. speaking to a new conference after the explosions blamed "rebels in Rhodesia" for the damage.
