Background: Three French consuls, M. Jean Guillon - Souk El Arba, Georges Geara - Medjez El Bab - and Francois Cervoni - Kef - have been expelled by the Tunisian authorities and arrive at the French Embassy in Tunis where they talk about their expulsion to journalists from America, Italy, England and France. M. Guillon, who was expelled without papers, money and without seeing his wife (she arrived in Tunis two hours afterwards). He was escorted by a commissioner of police and four inspectors. The action by the Tunisians comes by way of reprisal for French restrictions arising from the present tension between the two countries.
