    THE INSTITUTE - THE RESULT OF AN AGREEMENT SIGNED IN BANGKOK ON NOVEMBER 25, 1961, - IS THE SECOND OF JAPANESE "CENTRE PROJECTS" FOR THAILAND. THE FIRST WAS A TELECOMMUNICATIONS TRAINING CENTRE.

    THE VIRUS RESEARCH INSTITUTE WILL CONDUCT SURVEYS OF VIRUS DISEASES PREVALENT IN THAILAND, SUCH AS DENGUE FEVER, POLIOMYELITIS, INFLUENZA, AND SEEK ALSO TRAIN THAI MEDICAL AND TECHNICAL STAFF.
