Background: Malta's Prime Minister Dom Mintoff returned to Valetta on Saturday (September 30) after a day of talks with Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi in Tripoli. Our film shows Mr. Mintoff leaving the Libyan aircraft and being greeted by Maltese officials. He and Colonel Gaddafi discussed international issues affecting the Mediterranean sea. On Tuesday (3 Oct) Malta's Minister for Labour and Social Welfare, Joseph Cassar, and Public Building and Works Minister Larry Sant will fly to Libya to discuss work to be undertaken in Libya by Maltese contractors....also industrial projects in Malta which are part-financed by Libyan capital. A few days ago the Libyan government placed an order worth nearly two million pounds sterling for a Maltese-built floating dock.
