Background: Military air force stationed at Sao Paulo decided to stage a combined maneuver, together with infantry troops and army artillery.

During such demonstrations, a GLOSTER METEOR jet, which are used by the brazilian air force, crashed and burned as it touched down aside of the runway, due to failure of controls, according to surviving pilot. The crashed plane was immediately surrounded by rescue teams, putting out the fire, and rescuing crashed pilot.
