Background: Morocco beat Mali 2-1 in an Olympic elimination soccer match played before 30,000 spectators in Casablanca last Sunday (April 30).
The home crowd saw the Moroccan team begin the game with a great offensive buret, scoring their first goal in the second minute of play. But the Moroccan attack proved short-lived and Mali soon took control of the game and scored the equalising goal.
An error on the Mali side ended their domination of the game, and gave Morocco its winning point in the thirty-fifth minute of play. From then on, the Moroccans were able to keep Mali from scoring the point needed to tic the game.
