    A SPOKESMAN FOR MR. LYNCH IN CANBERRA SAID TODAY THE MINISTER IS IN AMERICA AT PRESENT FOR DISCUSSIONS WITH THE BIG THREE CAR MANUFACTURES -- GENERAL MOTORS, FORD AND CHRYSLER.

    HE SAID MR. LYNCH WOULD ASK ABOUT THE COMPANIES' INVESTMENT PLANS FOR AUSTRALIA AND THE ASIAN PACIFIC REGION IN THE 1980s.

    ALREADY BEING EXPORTED TO ASIAN COUNTRIES ARE CARS MANUFACTURED IN SOUTH KOREA.
