Shows the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Douglas in Tucson, Arizona where Peggy Snowden and her photographer husband will stay. The principal hostess for the visit to the United States is Sharman Douglas, the Douglas' daughter. Douglas was once the US ambassador to Britain (1947-1950). Film shows Douglas (with eye path) and reporters at his house. one roll shows him with his dog by the heated swimming pool where the Princess may swim with the Catalina Mountains in the bg. Other scenes show the house, various people (mostly press) sitting around on the rear patio, coverage indoors, including the living room,- dining room and the royal bedroom. (the bedroom at the head of roll 2). Also shown at the end of roll 2 is a Griffin which was knocked off the Houses of Parliament by a bomb and presented to Douglas by the UK. its set up in his garden.
The house is filled with western antiques and western art. The staff will be expanded to four to cope with the visit. The house, by the way, has 6 bedrooms and 4 baths.
