Background: The Yugoslav Foreign Minister, Mr. Marko Nikezic, is paying an official visit to France following a visit to Yugoslavia last year by the French Foreign Minister, M Maurice Couve de Murville. This evening (15 September) Mr. Nikezic had a 445-minute with President de Gaulle during which he conveyed a message from President Tito inviting the French President to pay on official visit to Yugoslavia.
After this evening's meeting at the Elysee Palace, Mr. Nikezic told reporters that President de Gaulle had accepted the invitation and would visit Yugoslavia as soon as circumstances permitted.
Mr. Nikezic arrived in France yesterday. This morning he had a meeting at the Quai d'Orsay with M.Couve de Murville, his French counterpart, during which they discussed the Middle-East situation and European security.
This evening Mr. Nikezic was attending a reception given by the Yugoslav ambassador in Paris. His official visit ends on Monday (18 September).
