Background: Swedish housewives in the little town of Helsingborg like Danish dairy produce because it's cheaper and of better quality than their own. And with Denmark only 14 minutes away on the ferry, they find it well worthwhile to do their shopping there.

They've been doing this for along time - and while the shopkeepers of Elsinnor, on the Danish side were quite happy about it, Swedish dairymen protested strongly. So strongly, in fact, that the Swedish customs imposed a 5-kilo (about 2 1/2 lbs) limit on this 'import' of Danish dairy produce.

But the Swedish housewife has found an answer to that: now she recruits her own children and their friends to make the ferry trap with her -- so that a party of five or six 'individuals' can bring out 25 or 30 kilos of butter, cream, bacon etc.

It's becoming such a big business now that the dairies of the little town of Elsinnor are becoming the largest in the country. And it's part of the service to deliver bags and cartons of shopping to the ship ......
