Background: Chou En-lai, Premier of the State Council, met and had friendly conversation with all the members of the Delegation of New Diet Members of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan headed by its leader Hideji Kawasaki and deputy leader Shigeru Suganami On the evening of September 16.

They included Secretary General of the Delegation Misoji Sakamoto, members of the Delegation Minoru Yoshida, Tokuo Yamashita, Kazuto Mukaiyama, Kiyoshi Mizuno, Kozo Watanabe and Shunjiro Karazawa and assistants of the Delegation Seine Matsumura, Kenji Maede and Kentaro Ueno.

Present at the meeting were leading members and staff members of the China-Japan Friendship Association, the China-Japan Memorandum Trade Office of China and other organizations concerned Wang Kuo-chuan, Liu Hsi-wen, Hsu Ming, Wang Hsiao-yun and others.
