    Background: Japanese Olympic Committee just decided to use a part of Washington Heights (United States Army personnel billet) in northern part of the city as Olimpic village site and also for joint training grounds for Olimpic champions coming to Tokyo in 1964.

    The area Washington Heights was built back in 1946 for the purpose of accommodating U.S. military and air force officers who stationed in Tokyo area and expanded their facilities so much every year and installed enough electricity, water, and other modern living facilities.

    This area can accommodate more than 8,000 olimpic game participants from all part of the world and they have enough fine dinning facilities, club, church, movie theater, recreating center together with athletic auditorium etc. However, Japanese government has to built another facilities for U.S. Army personnel in order to compensate for the return of this facilities to Japanese government. The main point of deciding utilization of this area is very close to the main stadium and other swimming pool, and other game centers from here. They can walk to the main stadium about 10 minutes on foot.

    However, Japanese government shall compensate 8,000,000,000. (Eight million British Sterling) to build another facilities of this kind in the vicinity of their camp which is located 20 miles north of Tokyo in return of the government use this facilities for Olimpic Village site, This Washington Heights is located very nice place in Tokyo as it is very convenient to go to any places. The railway station and the sub-way station is very close to this place and bus service is so frequent a day.

    Olimpic Committee of Japan will transfer the remodel of this area for Olimpic village to Tokyo Metropolitan municipality by August of 1964 as complete nice area for Olimpic participants from all parts of the world.
