Background: The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and Princess Margaret attended tonight's lecture on the trans-antarctic expedition of London's
Royal Festival Hall. The lecturer was Sir Vivian Fuchs -- here with Rear Admiral Parry, expedition secretary, awaiting the arrival of the royal party. The Queen, after meeting Sir John Slessor, Chairman of the Expedition Committee, talked to Sir Vivian.

The various expedition personalities were presented in turn to Princess Margaret and to the Duke of Edinburgh. And then all went inside the hall for Sir Vivian's lecture.
