    Background: A four-day ministerial conference between Liberia and the Ivory Coast opened in Monrovia, the Liberian capital, on Friday (August 18) to begin work on increasing economic and technical co-operation between the two countries.

    The Ivory Coast was represented by a 24-man delegation headed by Foreign Minister Arsene Assouan Usher. Among subjects for discussion and preliminary work were co-operation on agriculture, fishery, transportation, telecommunications, hydro-electrics, tourism, culture, health and trade.

    The opening meeting on Friday was adjourned after the formation of working committees.
