    FELICE GIMONDI OF ITALY, KEPT THE YELLOW JERSEY OF OVERALL LEADER IN THE 4,1777 KILOMETRE (APPROX 2,500 MILES) RACE WHICH ENDS IN PARIS ON JULY 14. HE PEDALLED IN TENTH IN TODAY'S STAGE, IN A GROUP WHICH ALSO INCLUDED RAYMOND POULIDOR, OF FRANCE, WHO IT THE FAVOURITE FOR VICTORY. HE REMAINS SECOND IN THE OVERALL STANDINGS, THREE MINUTES 12 SECOND BEHIND THE 23-YEAR-OLD GIMONDI.

    REYBROECK WON IN A SPRINT FINISH AGAINST THREE OTHER RIDERS AT THE END OF THE GRUELLING MOUNTAINOUS STAGE -- THE SECOND IN THE PYRENEES. RIK VAN LOOY, ANOTHER BELGIAN FINISHED SECOND IN THE SAME TIME AS REYBROECK -- 6 HOURS 44 MINUTES 18 SECONDS.
