A customer arrives, parks by the automatic menu board, and phones in his order. A girl punches the order out on a console whithin the machine. Once she is sure she has the entire order, she punches a "Go" button. The machine promptly makes the order, preparing the hamburger patties, cooking them putting them on a roll, etc. The entire order is delivered to a man somewhere in the depths of the machine, along with the bill. He puts it on a tray, puts the tray on a coveyor. Agirl collects the tray, and delivers it. The company says it could deliver the order to the customer automatically, but the car hops are nice touch they want to retain.

In case you english types don't know about them, a drive is restaurant works like this: one drives up and parks by a stand which contains a microphone and speaker. You phone your order in, and it is duly made by the staff in the kitchen, then delivered to you in the car via a pretty girl known as a Car Hop. Sometimes the Car Hops take the race . Sometimes the Car Hops who often don't wear too much, and no better than they should be.
AMF has invented a fully automated drive-in. The first one has been installed in Levittown, Long Island as the Fiesta Drive in.
