    Background: On September 30th, a big national day reception is given by Chairman Mao Tse-tung, Chairman Liu Shao-ehi, Vice-Chairmen Soong Ching-long and Tung Pi-wu, Chairman Chu Teh, and Premier Chou En-lai, in honour of the 15th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Prince Sihanouk and his wife; President Keita and his wife; President Massamba-Debat and other distinguished guests are present in the company of Chairman Mao Tse-tung and his wife, Kiang Chin; Chairman Liu Shao-chi and his wife, Tang Kwang-nei and other party and state leaders.

    The reception is a gathering over 2,000 guests from more than eighty countries.

    Chairman Liu Shao-chi extends a cordial welcome and hearty thanks to the distinguished guests on behalf of the Chinese people, the Chinese Communist Party and the Chinese government.
