TRANSCRIPT: SEQ. 3: LOUIS: "Foster could knock him dead with one punch."

BENNET: "But Frazier is a boxer through."

LOUIS: "But Frazier hits you tough. That's what you need to do. That's why I like Frazier... for boxing. I like to move round the ring, step with the gloves in the everything."

BENNET: "Would you give any advice to boxing him? You wouldn't try to slug it out with a man as strong as Frazier?"

LOUIS: "Well, you can't slug with him. I'm sure Foster's not going to try to slug with Frazier. That the mistake that other fighters who have fought Frazier made. Made the mistake of trying to slug with him, try to keep up the pace with him. That's all wrong. You got to fight his own fight. Take his time, stick them left jabs in his right hand, and I really believe that Foster's going to win".

Background: World heavyweight champion Joe Frazier and World light heavyweight champion Bon Foster have been working out in their Detroit gymnasium in preparation for their heavyweight title fight on Wednesday (November 18, 1970).

Joe Frazier, who has never lost a professional fight in his 25-match career, is tipped as favourite for Wednesday's fight, when he defends his title against Foster in Detroit. An ex-meet-cutter, his boxing style has earned him the nickname "Slaughterhouse Joe". Described as a relentless perpetual-motion machine, Frazier cannot match the height and reach of his opponent, although outweighing him by about a stone.

Bob foster, World light-heavyweight champion for two and a half years, is hoping for a victory that could mean a fight with ex-World heavyweight champion Muhammad Ali, formerly Cassius Clay. Such a fight could also make Foster a millionaire overnight. He has undergone a crash weight-adding programme to bring him into the heavyweight scale for Frazier.

Although Frazier is generally tipped as favourite, former World heavyweight Joe Louis firmly backs Foster. Foster's punch, he told interviewers, was enough to "knock Frazier dead".
