Background: Freak weather in the Middle East is still causing damage and casualties. Jordan is currently suffering the aftermath of floods following heavy snowfall and rainstorms.
There have been reports of two people dying of exposure and at least 75 people being injured by the floods. The capital, Amman, was badly affected with many houses and a refugee camp being damaged.
Jordan's Ministry of Social Affairs at once took action to distribute food, blankets and clothing to homeless families. And King Hussein put other ministries on standby in case the situation deteriorated.
