Background: The Canadian Ice Hockey team played the Paisley Pirates, Scotland, Feb 2. The belt of fog enveloping the Scottish Lowlands made filming difficult and had an adverse effect on the size of the crowd.
Canada was ahead 2 1/2 minutes after the start, Bradley scored. Thirty two seconds later Pickette, on loan from Wembley Lions, put in Paisley's first goal. Chiarelli, dropped earlier this season, scored Paisley's second goal in the nineteenth minute of the first period.
There was no score during the second period. In the fourteenth minute of the last period Paisley scored again through Chiarelli. Boucher putting Canada's second goal to bring the score to 3-2 in Paisley's favour.
In the nineteenth minute Canada made an all-out effort, taking off their goal-keeper and fielding six forwards. These tactics were fruitful, Smrke shot the puck into net, making the score 3-all. And that's how the game ended.
This was Canada's only game in Britain before flying to the Continent on Feb.4.
