The blast left a crater about three yards (2.7 metres) deep and 20 yards wide.
About 25 wrecked cars, glass and other debris from nearby houses blocked the street until firemen started a clearing operation with bulldozers and towing vehicles.

About twenty-five cars were wrecked in the explosion and glass and other debris from nearby houses littered the street.
