Background: Premier Eyskens of Belgium, arrived in Paris by train, Sept 13, for talks on European economic unity and a discussion on the present world situation. On arrival he was greeted by France's Premier Debre. The Belgian Prime Minister is accompanied by his Minister of Foreign Affairs M. Wigny.

President de Gaulle will entertain the Belgian leaders at a luncheon to be held in the Elysee Palace. Prime Minister Debre will also be present. After the luncheon President de Gaulle and Premier Eyskens will get down to the serious business at hand. Both Premier Debre and M. Wigny will be present.

The Belgian visit is the latest in a series of discussions President de Gaulle has had with European leaders. As in the past it is thought the present talks will mainly concerned with the question of closer European economic association.
