BEGIN: "Sometimes people ask us, intelligent people, fine good people, when are you going to recognise those who want to murder you? Why we should recognise them? It is an unreasonable question. Any reply would be illogical. Any. But they say so. It denies all parental rights, our rights to live in our own land after having returned to it, fought for it and died for it, suffered for it, and to say that we should be cleansed from this land...what an unreasonable question. No nation on earth can recognise another nation proclaiming openly that they want to destroy that nation. And may I simply, modestly, tell you ladies and gentlemen on behalf not only of the government but also all the people of Israel with very few exceptions, that Israel is not going to give any recognition to the so-called PLO, the murderers, genocidal PLO, using a genocidal method, having a genocidal aim and proclaiming to the world that they are bent on the destruction of Israel. They will never succeed in their aim. Israel will live for ever. We want Jews and Arabs to live together in this country, not only in Halifa, in Ramallah, in Jaffa, in Lydda or in Jerusalem to live together in human dignity, in peace and in security: without security peace itself becomes meaningless. No bloodshed,no killing no attacks, in common advancement and co-operation. We never say we can help you. We reject such haughtiness. We always say to our Arab neighbours we can have faith in the country, we can help each other, we can advance together, and turn this region, which was in ancient times the cradle of civilisation, again in a blossoming garden with the modern technology that all the new inventions of the creative human mind, together."
