Background: The new National Airline of Cameroun, Cameroun Airlines (CAM-AIR) launched its internal service on November the first with a Boeing 737 flight from Douala to Yaounde and Garoua. The new airline's fleet is made up of four aircraft, which will serve neighbouring countries and also fly to France three times a week.

The new airline is a breakaway one, formed after Cameroun left the multi-national Air Afrique Company last January.

SYNOPSIS: The new National Airline, Cameroun Airlines (CAM-AIR), launched its internal service on November the first with a Boeing 737 flight from Douala to Younde and Garoua.

At Yaounde, officials and spectators were on the tarmac to greet the Boeing, which had the new Airline's young President Mr. Mouliem, on board. At each stop on the maiden flight he had president at an official reception.

The new Airline is a breakaway one, since Cameroun left the multi-national Air Afrique Company last January. Its new fleet is made up of four aircraft, which will serve neighbouring countries, and will fly to France three times a week with the help of technical assistance from Air France. Air France recently presented the new Cameroun Airline with a Boeing 707, at a ceremony in Paris.

Cameroun has also recently concluded an agreement with the Central African Republic for a new service between the two countries. M. Antonio Franck, Central African Minister Delegate in charge of ex-service-men's affairs, signed the agreement for the service on October 30th with Cameroun's Minister of Transport Vincent Efron.
