Background: Yugoslavian National Defence Minister General Nikola Ljubicic has been visiting Egypt for two days of talks on Middle East matters.
He was met on arrival Saturday (2 June) by his Egyptian opposite number, General Ahmed Ismail Aly. Also present was Yugoslavia's Ambassador to Egypt, Mr. Mikajlo Javorski.
General Ljubicic flew on to visit Ethiopia and Sudan at the end of his talks with Egyptian officials.
SYNOPSIS: At Cairo Airport on Saturday, a full official welcome was laid on to greet the arriving Yugoslavian National Defence Minister, General Nikola Ljubicic. He was met by Egyptian War Minister General Ahmed Ismail Aly and senior government officials. Yugoslav Ambassador to Egypt Mikajlo Javorski, was also among the welcoming party.
After the official greeting, the two ministers crossed the tarmac to inspect a waiting guard of honour. General Ljubicic stopped in Cairo for two days on his way to visit Ethiopia and Sudan.
General Ljubicic told newsmen at the airport that his visit was a friendly one to discuss Middle East matters. Later, the Yugoslavian National Defence Minister called on various Egyptian leaders for discussions.
