Background: British Prime Minister, Edward Heath, has told the British Parliament that he foresees the prospect of unity, peace and prosperity in Western Europe, to a degree never before seen in the continent.

Reporting to Parliament on his recent round of talks with French President, M. Georges Pompidou, Mr. Haath said it was heartening for him to discover how close the views of Britain and French ware on the development of Europe.

Before his appearance in the House of Commons, Mr. Heath held a full Cabinet meeting at No. 10 Downing Street. He also conferred with New Zealand's Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. John Marshall, over moves to safeguard New Zealand's interests in future Common Market talks.
