    Background: A motor-vehicle exhaust-control device claimed to remove more than more than 90 per cent of carbon monoxide, 90 per cent of unburnt hydro-carbons, 80 per cent of nitrogen oxide, and 50 per cent of lead compounds has been shown in operation at Denmark's Technical University.

    The inventors, two civil-engineering brothers, Leif and Knud Jensen, claim their device is an improvement on similar ones because it is not damaned by the lead compounds in exhaust gases, and it is cheap because it does not use expensive metals like platinum, as others do.

    It introduces a catalyst into the exhaust to be cleaned, an analysis of which has yet to be divulged.
