Background: A Swiss pilot, Dr. E. Iselin, won a novel balloon "fox hunt" contest over Holland, May 11. It was organised by the Hague Balloon Club.

Six balloons - two Dutch and one each from Switzerland, Belgium, France and Germany - took off from the Hague.Drifting in a northerly wind, they landed about 2 1/4 hours later (and some 70 kilometres away) at the village of Wouw, in south-west Holland.

One of the Dutch balloons - "Oxygenium", piloted by the well-known Dutch woman balloonist, Mrs. Nini Boesman, - was the "fox." It took off a little ahead of the other five, "hunters". Their object was to follow it, and land as close to it as possible when it came down.

To qualify, they had to land within a 5-kilometre circle of it. Dr. Iselin skilfully brought his balloon down within no more than 200 metres of the "fox".
