    Background: The Cuban Foreign Minister, Senor Raul Roa Garcia, arrived in Rome on Saturday (10 August) for a five day visit which includes talks with his Italian counterpart Signor Aldo Moro.

    Informed sources said that the talks, which took place at the Italian Foreign Ministry residence on Monday (12 August) were devoted to an examination of international political themes of common interest, together with discussions on bi-lateral relations.

    Italy's relations with Cuba's ally, the U.S.S.R., are close. Last month Signor More flew to Moscow for a five day visit, which was part of regular consultations between the two countries. Senor Roa visited the Soviet Union before his arrival in Italy.
