McLAUGHLIN: "There were about 30 demonstrators, almost all girls, and after trying their rope cordon at windscreen height, they grouped in the middle of the crossing, singing and chanting. The ropes didn't survive long though, and soon traffic was moving past the demonstrators whom the police managed to keep tightly bunched in the centre. On each light's change pedestrians too walked through many stayed on the sidelines as spectators. One of the ropes ripped on a roof race, and at least one other car was damaged in the confusion, but motorists suffered little more than a slight hold up. But at one point tempers were lost. The demonstration lasted 40 minutes. Then just as a police wagon arrived the protesters walked away. In Auckland this is Bernard McLaughlin."

In the northern city of Auckland, pro-abortion??? tried to rope off one of the main streets in the city centre.....their plan did not work, and as Bernard McLaughlin, of New Zealand Television Service One reports, there was more violence.
