Background: Song Eunha is nine years old. Her sister Song Eunmi is eight. Remarkably, the two girls share the same talent: they are so agile that they have been offered a place at the Oklahoma Gymnastic School, run by Della Carolee, instructor of Olympic medallist Nadia Komanechi. The girls and their parents are delighted. The family is not well-off and the two sisters' intensive training requires the facilities of a gymnasium. They can only practise at the Soo Yoo Girls' Middle School in Seoul, because the elementary school which they attend near their home in nearby Itaewon does not offer adequate facilities. During school holidays, Eunha and Eunmi have to practise at home, under their father's supervision. Experts say the girls are potential Olympic material. The training which the Oklahoma Gymnastic School provides will enhance their hopes to represent their country in the 1988 Olympic Games.
