Background: Israeli jets bombed parts of south Lebanon on Wednesday (21 April). A United Nations spokesman said the planes struck at Palestinian refugee camps around the capital Beirut -- while Israel said the mission was against Palestinian guerrilla bases. It's believed at least 14 people died in the raids and a significant number were injured. The attack broke an uneasy truce, negotiated by the United Nations last July. Palestinian anti-aircraft gunners have been on full alert during that time, ready to go to action stations at a moment's notice. They constantly drill to perfect loading and firing techniques in order to improve their chance of hitting fast, low-flying aircraft. From camouflaged gun emplacement, these crews provide the front line defence in southern Lebanon against aerial attack.
