Background: More than 2000 riot police have failed to oust militant demonstrators encamped on the disputed site of Tokyo's second international airport, after a nine-day battle.
This film from Visnews cameraman Kimiaki Tanaka shows scenes on the eighth day of the battle between the riot police and the demonstrators - students and local farmers.
The bellicose farmers resent losing their land, and the students claim the airport will be used for U.S. military purposes.
