Background: The international railwayroad Paris-Zurich-Vienna (Arlberg-Express) which passes the romantic lake of Walenstadt is being built out. On 5,1 km near the village of Weesen a double railwaytrack has been planned since some years. 1956 a credit of SwissFr. 28 Millions was allowed. The biggest plan was to build a tunnel through the "Kerenzerberg". The work for this tunnel was started from 3 different sides by workers from our country and from countries around us. The Swiss Railway-Organization (Schweizerische Bundesbahnen) intend to finish the work within 30 months, i.e. by the end of the year 1959.
