Background: An agreement for Nigeria Airways to operate through Algeria and the Algerian airline to operate through Nigeria was signed in Lagos on Friday (25 May) in Lagos.
The Nigerian Federal Commissioner for Transport, Dr. R.A.B.Dikko signed the agreement on behalf to his country, while Algeria was represented by the Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Nouriddine Djoundi.
Nigerian Airways craft will now be able to fly from Lagos, through Niamey and Algiers to Rome. Algerian state airline planes will be authorized to operate from Algiers through Niamey and Lagos to Brazzaville.
The Algerian Ambassador said the agreement was another significant step in the economic cooperation growing between African nations.
