    Background: Filing past, ready for friendly contest are big names in sport - 'Pancho' Gonzales, Jack Kramer, Lew Hoad. This time, however, there's an element of novelty for these giants of professional tennis. Their opponents are paraplegic patients at Melbourne's Austin Hospital. And so to even the odds, the game of basketball gets under way -- in wheelchairs.

    The Austin players, all paralysed form the waist down, proved far more adept at this wheelchair sport. They led throughout the match, notching 15 goals to the 13 scored by their rather loss skilful opponents. Victory also brought each member of the winning side a gold watch.
