Background: Fighting broke out at a marina in Washington on Thursday (14 June) when a family of 13 were evicted from their houseboat.
Captain James O'Leary, his wife and their 11 children were ordered to quit their mooring at the Washington Marina because they hadn't paid their fees. O'Leary refused earlier orders to leave, but on Thursday, United States Marshals served the legal papers giving the final order to leave.
The owner of the marina cut the moorings, and a brawl between members of the O'Leary family and the marine officials broke out. It ended as the O'Leary family aboard their 85-foot (25.9 metres) launch 'Chicago' drifted without its engine working into the Potomac River.
