Background: A GROUP OF ABOUT 60 STUDENT DEMONSTRATORS BURST INTO THE OFFICES OF THE LEBANESE REPRESENTATION IN WEST GERMANY TODAY (MONDAY) TO PROTEST AGAINST LEBANESE MILITARY CLASHES WITH PALESTINE GUERILLAS. THEY REMOVED A PICTURE OF PRESIDENT CHARLES HELOU ON FINALLY LEAVING.

THE DEMONSTRATORS, WHO CARRIED BANNERS PROTESTING AT ISRAELI AND LEBANESE MILITARY CLASHES WITH PALESTINE GUERILLAS, SPOKE WITH THE HEAD OF THE REPRESENTATIVE, M. JEAN RIACHI.

THERE WAS NO VIOLENCE, ACCORDING TO M. RIACHI. HE SAID THAT THE STUDENTS MERELY LODGED A STRONG VERBAL PROTEST THEN SANG SONGS AGAINST THE LEBANESE GOVERNMENT.

WEST GERMAN POLICE WERE ON THE ALERT OUTSIDE THE BUILDING, BUT MR. RIACHI SAID HE WOULD NOT CALL THEM WHILE THE DEMONSTRATION REMAINED PEACEFUL.

THE LEBANON HAS NO DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS WITH WEST GERMANY, AND THE SPANISH EMBASSY IS RESPONSIBLE FOR LEBANESE INTERESTS IN THE COUNTRY.
