WOMAN: "I'm not surprised at what the German government has done. It's not the first time the Germans have set free terrorists and murderers. The government has this time proved itself again that it is stupid and selfish and has no courage, and I think the German people have deserved a better government."
REPORTER APPROACHES MAN IN THE STREET: "Excuse me, sir, what is your reaction to Germany releasing the Munich terrorists?"
MAN REPLIES: "I think it's a real scandal. I am very upset because I think murderers shouldn't be freed at all, but these particular murderers have murdered Jews, innocent people, in munich. They shouldn't have been given away, they should have been put on trial and I think the German government has a real responsibility for that, and I am very surprised at Lufthansa for not having taken more precautions because everybody knew that they intend(ed) to kidnap a German plane."

Background: In Israel, there was swift and angry reaction to the news that the Black September movement of Arab extremists had secured the release of three of their members from West German prisons. A group of Black September commandos hijacked a West German airliner on Sunday, and used it to bargain for the release of their colleagues, who had been hold since the killings of members of the Israeli Olympic team in Munich.
Israelis were furious that the hijack had happened when, they said, it was obvious that Black September would try such a coup. They were also against the West Germany decision to free the three prisoners. Visnews interviewed several Israelis in tel Aviv today (Monday):
