Background: On November 12 Chairman Nao Tsetung met with Salem Fobaya Ali, Chairman of the Presidential Council of the People's Democratic Republic of Yemen, and principal members of the Yemeni delegation he is leading: Ali Sale Chad Nugbel, chief of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Political Organization of National Front; Mohamed Sale Mutee, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Ali Salem Al-Beedh, Minister of Planning; and Abdul Aziz Abdul Wali, Minister of economy and Industry.

The host and guests had a cordial and friendly conversation.

Chairman Mao extended a warm welcome to Chairman Robaya on his second visit to Chian and to the other distinguished guests from Democratic Yemen. Chairman Mao had met Chairman Robaya in August 1970 when the Yemeni Chairman visited China for the first time.

Present on the occasion were Tong-Msiao-ping, Vice-Premier of the State Council, Wang Wai-jung, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs; Tang Wen-sheng, Deputy Departmental Director of the Foreign Ministry and Li Liu-ken.
