Background: The Prime Minister of North Vietnam Mr. Pham Van Dong, arrived in Albania last Sunday (October 28) during a tour of some East European countries. Mr. Pham came to Albania at the invitation of the government, and was accompanied by a party of North Vietnamese officials.
Albanian Labour Party and government officials were at Tirana's Rinas airport to welcome the North Vietnamese leader. Thousands of people lined the route from the Airport to Tirana to give their welcome to the North Vietnamese party.
On Sunday afternoon, Mr. Pham Van Dong was the guest at a reception given by the President of the Presidium, Mr. Haxhi Lleshi, and the Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Mehmet Shehu.
Official talks were held on Monday, the second day of Mr. Pham's visit. Mr. Mehmet Shehu headed the Albanian delegation.
After spending a few days in Albania, the North Vietnamese party left for Moscow, where, according to the Soviet News Agency Tass, Mr. Pham Van Dong discussed Vietnamese ceasefire arrangements and Soviet aid to his country with the Soviet Premier, Mr. Alexei Kosygin. Mr. Pham Van Dong and his delegation left the Soviet Union on Sunday (November 4), to return to north Vietnam.
