Background: It is twenty years since the women of Amsterdam have thought of holding a peace demonstration of any kind. But the situation in the world generally, and the atom bomb threat in particular, has set them thinking and - like their brethren in other lands - galvanized them into taking positive action to impress authority with their feeling in the matter.

So through the streets of Amsterdam they went with their banners and slogans - slogans expressing world-wide sentiments.

In absolute silence they walked the streets for over an hour.
