THE MEETING, WHICH ENDED TODAY, (SUNDAY) OPENED ON FRIDAY UNDER THE CHAIRMANSHIP OF THE EMPEROR HAILE SELASSIE OF ETHIOPIA.

    THE FEDERAL NIGERIAN DELEGATION, HEADED BY MR. FEMI OKUNNU, THE FEDERAL COMMISSIONER FOR WORKS AND HOUSING, HAS INSISTED THAT ANY CEASEFIRE AGREEMENT SHOULD BE IN THE INTERESTS OF ONE NIGERIA. BIAFRA HAS BEEN REPRESENTED AT THE CONFERENCE BY AN EIGHT MAN DELEGATION LED BY FORMER WORLD COURT JUDGE, SIR LOUIS MBANEFO -- THEIR LEADING SPOKESMAN AT PREVIOUS ABORTIVE PEACE CONFERENCES.

    PRESIDENT HAMANI DIORI OF NIGER, PRESIDENT JOSEPH MOBUTU OF CONGO-KINSHASA AND PRESIDENT AHAMADOU AHIDJO OF CAMEROUN HAVE ALL FLOWN TO MONROVIA TO ATTEND THE MEETING. THE GHANAIAN DELEGATION IS HEADED BY MR. JOHN HARLLEY, THE VICE-CHAIRMAN OF THE RULING NATIONAL LIBERATION COUNCIL.

    THE EMPEROR, WHO WENT STRAIGHT TO THE MEETING FROM A FOURTEEN NATION MEETING OF EAST AND CENTRAL AFRICAN STATES IN LUSAKA, ADDRESSED THE OPENING SESSION IN A?HARIC, THE MODERN OFFICIAL LANGUAGE OF ETHIOPIA.
