Background: Two electric trains collided in the central station at Magoya, Japan, on Sunday. No-one was killed, but 155 were injured, many of them seriously.
The crash occurred when an express train collided with the back of another electric train standing at the station. The driver of the express was trapped by the legs in his cab and had to be cut free by rescue workers.
Most of the passengers who were injured were in the last two coaches of the stationary train and in the first coaches of the express. The force of the crash caused some injuries, other were cut by flying glass.
As soon as the injured passengers were lifted into ambulances, the others continued their journey in a fleet of buses.
